| The Arthritis Society (TAS) BC and Yukon Division was founded in 1948 and is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organization committed to excellence and leadership in research, care, education and advocacy for people with arthritis. As a 100 per cent donor-funded organization, it raises nearly $5 million annually to support the programs and services of The Society. It is a provincial division of the national office of The Arthritis Society, which has divisions in every Canadian province. Community groups/advocates are active in many communities in BC, providing support for people living with arthritis, raising funds, increasing public awareness and organizing educational events.
